Weekend Recap

Believe it or not I did not get that drunk this weekend. You are so proud I know. I instead ate my weight in crawfish at our friend's crawsifh boil on Saturday. I, until very recently had never had a crawfish. Then my friends Kelly and her husband "D" introduced me to the wonderful little things. I love 'em! Their brother in law does a boil every year around Easter time and this year was no exception. The boiled over 132 pounds of crawfish for about 100 people. In addition to this they had crabs, potatoes, artichokes, asparagus, garlic, cornbread and all sorts of deserts. It was magical.

Best part of it my future mother in law had a blast. She does not drink beer but she tried beer. She does not really eat spicy food but she ate all the creole seasoning we threw at her. I was really proud of her for trying something new.

Easter Sunday we went to brunch at Z-Tejas and then headed home to have a fun egg hunt and eat lost of candy. All in all a pretty simple but totally fun weekend.

Happy belated Easter to you all!

First Dress Fitting

I had my first dress fitting today and I wanted to give you all an update.

Some background first. I got my dress last August when my mom was in town for only one weekend. I really wanted her to be there and I was glad that she and my sister were able to help me pick out my dress. But I made my choice very quickly. I really think mom and sister helped pick out a dress that was just right for me. The dress came in just after Christmas and I went to try it on with Janet. Well, it was HUGE and did not feel like it was the same dress at all. I started to get a bit nervous that I had chosen the wrong dress for me. The whole shape of the dress was different.

Today I had the dress all pinned in. I added the corset to make my boobs be in the right place. I had my shoes on to make me look taller. I feel much better about it but I am not going to lie I am still feeling apprehensive about the whole thing. I still wonder if the fit of the dress is throwing me off.

I love the dress don't get me wrong but I am always going to wonder if it is just right. I feel like when I have it on I get very out of body with my thoughts. My dress does not feel like my dress anymore but just another object I am analyzing and critiquing. I look at it and I think wow so pretty and I feel like I am playing dress up in someone else's big girl wedding dress. Kind of like I am not "grown up" enough for this yet. Did anyone else feel this way? I have heard many brides question their dress at some point during the planning process. I am sure it is the right dress just still feels funny to be dressed up like a bride.

I am sure this feeling is just me being weird.

I might be late to the bandwagon here...

But I have recently discovered Grooveshark.com and it is awesome! If you have not heard of it here is a little update. It is a site like Pandora where you can play music for free almost all day with little interruption. But with Grooveshark.com you can pick the music you want and listen to it for free. This is key for me at my work because of the loud hacking lady (who yes is still making that noise). So the best part of this stire is you can pick the exact music you want to listen to. I have recently gotten really bored with my Pandora stations and this is a great option.

I am currently trying to pick music for a playlist for my wedding. And this has been helpful to eliminate music or add things I may not have thought of. They give you ideas for similar artists and popular songs. It is just a great site that I thought I would let you all know about!

Blogger Happy Hour

Hello all my fellow blogger ladies!

It has been a long time since we have all gotten together. So much has happed since our last big get together. The Jones' are married and our favorite "enginerd" has a happy home! Engagements and wedding planning, house hunting and beer drinking as well! So many things to celebrate!

I know we are all very busy ladies so I thought I would put it out there that I would like to put together a Blogger happy hour. I was thinking April 28th or 29th. Is anyone interested? If so let me know what day is best and what part of town is best. I am going to put it out there that The Domain is the best for me but that does not really matter if it is not best for the rest of us! Bring other bloggers we may not know yet and friends who might be interested in having a drink with a fun group of girls!

Here is to hoping people read my blog and want to go to happy hour! :)

Weekend Recap - I got drunk a lot again

Friday - WF and I had our movie night. We watched "The Blind Side" which was really great and very moving. While watching this I made our team uniforms for the aleymics the next day. I had had a bottle of wine so things may have gotten a bit sloppy at the end.

Saturday - We got up early finished the t-shirts took our dog for a long walk and had a hearty chick fil-a meal to help get my stomoch ready for the massive amount of drinking I was about to do. We then headed to the Aleymics in all of our glory. For detailed pictures please take a look at Kelly's blog. We were super silly and had a blast playing lots of fun games. I have to say my friends are pretty awesome to be able to coordinate something like this. There were opening ceremonies, many winter themed games, lots of beer and a HUGE ass slip-n-slide. All so much fun. Like Kelly said in her blog sometimes you have to let loose and make an ass out of yourself. I did appreciate her telling my opponent I was prego, he seemed to be very scared to hit me!

So in case the pictures did not accurately portray us we were "Team America - FUCK YEA". My t-shirts even had fuck yeah written out there in all it's glory. WF went to get cash at the store and I am pretty sure some parents were offended. Just in case you have not heard our inspirational theme song here it is for you in all its glory:

I can't wait for the next summer Aleymics! We won gold at the last summer games so I am hoping we can make it a repeat for the summer events. It is going to be a blast and I know you will want to join us.

Sunday - I woke up sore as hell. The slip-n-slide was a hard core ab workout. WF took a nap right after waking up, cus we are that lazy. We then grocery shopped and watched movies the rest of the day. It was a great end to a super fun weekend.

Remember, America - FUCK YEA!

The Full Ensemble

I just could not help myself with this picture!

Last night I went to a sale at Unbridled just to see what they had. Well I got a steal and ended up walking out with my veil! I have been having a really hard time finding just what I wanted to wear and I can't believe I bought it without over analyzing everything about it.

I ended up going with a 28 inch rough cut "grace" draped veil. Get this my veil cost me a total of $43 buckaroos!!!!! It will fall to my shoulder blades and will not take away from my dress at all. I am super excited about that because the back of my dress is the focal point of my dress! I just need to figure out where on my head I will place it now but I will work that out next month with my hairdresser.

So with that I have almost my whole look now. I have the dress, the shoes, the bra and panties (I think)  and now the veil. All I need to get is a flower clip for my hair after the ceremony and then maybe some jewelry. Things are coming together!

Weight Watchers Wednesday

Went to WW last night and had a great meeting. I am only down .2 pounds but hey I will take that after my lack of working out and over eating this weekend. WF and I have been trying to encourage each other to keep moving and eating healthy but when you are at Alamo Draft House for dinner all that crap goes out the window.
I consumed a bucket of beer, potato skins with sour cream, goat cheese salad (which I only had because I then could justify having the following) a malt Oreo milkshake with whipped cream. A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Seriously I think that one meal caused me to revers a months work of WW efforts. But it is ok because I still lost. I guess that is the bright side. And I totally think it was worth it to have a super fun date night.

On the other hand I have been within .5 pounds of my freaking official goal weight for lifetime for about 6 months. It is time to make this shit happen don't you think? So this week I WILL eat healthy and I WILL work out and I WILL make goal on Tuesday at my meeting dammit.

Unless of course I get distracted at the Ale-ymics (of which I will blog about later this week to tell you about the awesomeness that is going to happen this weekend) this weekend by all the shiny beer cans and queso...
