This weekend I was a mess. It went by so quick and before I knew it Monday was over! I love weekends at home but this weekend I felt like I never was home.
Friday - I went over to Kelly's for dinner with Janet and our friend Kristen. The night started off perfect. Appetizers, dinner, wine and conversation. Somewhere along the line I think it was the blue saphire martini Kelly fixed me, I ended up passed out on Kelly's bed after trying on their bridesmaids dresses for my own wedding. I then proceeded to have WF pick my drunk butt up. I yelled at him for laughing at me for yelling at my clothing in my own closet. (I don't remember any of this by the way) I somehow got myself to bed after brushing my teeth and washing my face. (I found toothpaste all over my sink the next morning)
Saturday - I wanted to die most of the day. I could not move and just sat on the sofa most of the day. What a waste of life I was. We eventually got my ass off the couch and went grocery shopping. That was a mistake wanted to kill all the screaming kids in the store for making my head hurt. I then took a nap and felt better. So we headed to dinner with Amelia and friends at Max's wine dive. It was so yummy and actually so great to see everyone. I was able to power through and really had a wonderful night out with all of them.
Sunday - We had out first pre-marital counseling session with out minister. That was wonderful and had a really great time talking with him. I am so glad we invested in the sessions. Then we met up with Amelia and friends at Union Park for Sunday funday. We had a great time chatting and hanging out, then headed home to finally pass out!
Now I realized I said I was never home this weekend and I guess I was, maybe it was my drunken rage that made me feel like that. I hope you all had a great weekend!

Carrie Underwood - "Undo It"
I got to go to this show last night. She was amazing! She sings her pants off! Love her new video and secretly might be jamming to it on repeat at my desk today.

Confession
I may have tried to make out with this beautiful piece of art last night while unpacking my wedding shower gifts. Seriously there is video of me getting excited about the manual and its new plastic smell.
I have wanted one of these for years now and I am so freaking excited I got one! It is a Cuisinart 9 cup food processor. It is beautiful and a beast! I am going to go through as many recipes as I can to find all the ways to use it. I cant wait to get this bad boy purring.
PS. I was going to wait to post this until tomorrow but I was THAT excited about it... I am a huge loser.
Weekend Recap
Friday - WF and I bought his wedding band and then headed over to meet Amelia and friends for a drink at Gloria's. We did not stay long but I have decided that I love sangria and must find a way to make it our house for cheap. We then headed home to wrap hostess gifts, pack and iron our outfits for our wedding shower. So much organizing, I really was in heaven. I then got a big surprise! I am going to Carrie Underwood this week! WF gave me my birthday gift very early! So much fun.
Saturday - We headed to Dallas and attended our first shower. Let me tell you this getting married thing is now officially fun! :) Just kidding it was fun before then but now it is freaking awesome! The ladies threw me the sweetest shower, they are my future MIL's teacher friends. We had a salad luncheon complete with my favorite thing, mimosas! We enjoyed sharing stories of getting married and weddings. We then opened our gifts and had lots of fun laughs! WF was there with me and was able to take video of it all because we got a Flip video camera! We also got some really sweet gifts like a Paellea pan from my MIL who is a Spanish teacher and loves to cook that dish for us. She wants to pass the tradition on. I was touched.
We then headed out to an amazing tapas bar in west Dallas. It was called Cafe Madrid. If any of you have a chance to go there you should check it out. SUPER YUMMY! It was really authentic Spanish tapas though. I even had sweetbread. For those of you that don't know what that is, it is sheep's brain! I was so proud of myself for trying it. I really liked west Dallas, such a cute area.
Sunday - We had breakfast and then headed home with a very full car. We unpacked all of our gifts and played in the kitchen for hours! It was a wonderful weekend.

I am too old for this crap
Last night WF and I headed to the Alamo Draft House to go see Iron Man 2. The only catch was it was at midnight and I had already shared a bottle of prosecco with Kelly at CRU. I was ready for freaking bed at about 9pm. So what do you do when you are tired and must make it through a 2 hour movie in the dark after you drink too much? You drink a bit more and shove your face full of food. So after about an hour of waiting for the movie to start in addition to the two hour movie and 3 million calories I consumed (2 beers, potato skins, the smoky and the bacon and fries, and a $5 milkshake that was heaven in the glass, all totally worth it) I went home and passed out. I am so freaking tired today I could cry.
For those that are interested the movie was awesome. Totally worth going to see. Maybe not a midnight but still. Seriously. I am too old for this crap. I love WF but next time he can go to the midnight showing with his friends.UGH!

Rehearsal Dinner: BOOKED!
After much back and forth about where and when we were going to have our rehearsal dinner we finally picked a place. It came down to several options.
First the lovely Mandola's Winery in Driftwood. I loved the idea of doing this location because it is fantastic Italian food and is also a winery. WF and I love us some wine and we both thought this would be a great location. But then we got their requirements and I was like, "Hell to the no!". They wanted us to have a semi private space for a spending minimum of $2500 and come in at 3 and be out by 6. Ridiculous. We only have like 23 people coming to the rehearsal dinner. Goodness.
So our next choice was the Salt Lick. We both loved that it was Austin-y and fun and laid back. But then the reality of having several vegetarians coming and the idea of smelling like BBQ for the wedding the next day was not appealing. Next on the list was Z-tejas. Loved the private rooms and the cost per person was perfect but neither of us really like Mexican food too much and it was going to be a pain to get the parking dealt with.
So on to the winner! Perry's Steakhouse. I know sounds fancy, but actually they had the best per person cost and a really low spending minimum. The food is amazing there, it is a block from the hotel and best of all they have a MASSIVE wine selection. We are even hosting the dinner in the cellar room. Perfect for WF and I. I am really looking forward to this night as I think it will be a chance for me to really talk to the people I love. And I get to enjoy a fantastic meal! :) Here is a picture of the main dining area:

Weekend Recap
Friday - I went home after a very long doctor's appointment and shoe insert fitting and did nothing. WF and the pup were in Dallas and I had no responsibility. I was feeling really bummed about my injury and decided I just wanted to hang out alone. I had a healthy dinner and desert, watched a movie and a lot of TLC wedding shows and then headed to bed.
Saturday - I went to breakfast at Kerby Lane and then headed to Blush Bridal to help Janet order her wedding dress. She looked absolutely beautiful and I just loved the whole look she put together. The ladies at Blush were so nice and I can tell why she wanted to get her dress there. I then headed up to Dallas to go to a WW2 vet reunion. It was really interesting and moving to hear about all of their stories. WF's grandpa was a fighter pilot over Iwo and flew P 51's. There are only 5 living fighter pilots left from their outfit and it was like talking to living history. We ate BBQ and I got to have super awkward interactions with old men as they flirted with me.
Sunday - We started off with brunch at Blue Mesa and then headed home for a really quiet night of DVR and Pho. I love nights like this when we unwind. I was so tired from diving I don't think I could do much else. I did however go re-water the pants I tried to water Saturday morning at Kelly's house. I managed to not kill everything in her garden, YEAH for me!
On deck for this week - Working out, wedding shower prep, Iron Man 2 midnight showing, and heading back up to Dallas! Oh fun stuff.
