What's a girl to do?

Over the last two months I have made over 30 dozen cookies. I made them to hand out to friends and family over the holidays. I even made cute bags to put them in see:

I still love these bags! I made 50 of them for like 4 bucks!
I made ginger snaps, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies and coconut macaroons. Yummy
Well after the trip out to my sister's house in Houston, picture below is the back of my car with just the kiddos gifts in it, just had to share:

We have eaten way more than I should have. Now, my head is conflicted on what I should eat. The picture below shows what I mean:

Eat the cookies or the apple and granola bar? Hmmmm. What's a girl to do?

In short... I am sure you don't care where I have been.

The long of it is I was sick, and it is the holidays. Shit got crazy up in here. Oh and I have made well over 20 dozen cookies, five bunt cakes, bread, and many other baked goods this holiday season. I hosted a Christmas brunch with great friends on Sunday and I am hosting family at my house for the next week.

Our house looks like Santa's village, and you can see our balcony from space. It is awesome. I will try to take a picture for you all.

On another note, I have the most amazing husband in the ENTIRE world. He is a pain in the ass because he makes me look bad a lot but it is worth it. My husband has made an advent calendar for me. Every morning we open it together.

Just to give you a preview of how awesome he is, today my gift was a donation to Saint Jude's and a note that said, "Because I wanted to help other children grow up to meet their other halves like you and I did." No, I did not tell him to write that, and yes, you can gag. I am the luckiest girl in the world.

Back to me being busy.

I will take my foot out of my mouth now...

Mr. A informed last night that no matter what my intentions were with a recent blog post about babies was I should never had said it. It came off wrong, rude and selfish and you know what as much as I hate to admit it he is right. You all do not write your blogs to entertain me, you write them to tell your story. I hope you can accept my sincere apologies.

I have since taken it down, so if you don't know what I am talking about then good and if you do and were hurt I am sorry. Really, I never meant to come off like that. I hope you all can understand it was an honest mistake.

Thanks for (hopefully) still loving me even with my lack of self control.

Now back to my regular posts...

Coming up, pictures from our trip... here is a sneak peak:

When desperate, listen to the hippies

The last few months I felt like my diet was lacking. I have felt really tired, stressed out, unfocused and in general off through most of my work day. I have tried changing what I eat, working out, more sleep, less drinking (lets be honest that was not really going to happen) all of the usual things and still nothing really has helped. So I decided to try something out that Sarah had suggested to me a while back. Vitamins, specifically New Chapter brand.

I ordered from Amazon today New Chapter One Daily Multi-vitamin
I also ordered New Chapter Wholemega Fish Oil Focus (I am secretly hoping I get really smart taking this)

I will let you know how this little experiment goes but I am very hopeful that these vitamins will make a difference. Maybe I will even become smarter? Probably not.

Happy Friday!

How to ruin your night right before you go to bed...

Try on your bridesmaids dress so your husband can approve/tell you you look pretty for the wedding you are in NEXT FRIDAY and realize that it has been taken in just a smidgen too much (or worse you have eaten one to many times at Enchiladas y Mas) and now you have to drop weight and quick!

How's that for a run on sentence!?

Anyway, I am now in crash diet mode to make sure I don't look like a stuffed sausage in the wedding pictures. I feel it is my duty to look cute for my friends wedding. Dammit! What do I do? How do I drop 5 pounds in a week!?

Ironic thing is, I bought the long flowing maxi dress so I could hide the fact that I am not at "fighting weight" anymore. Weight Watchers FAIL...

I have been sick, sorry. I know you missed me.

The last few weeks I have not only been super busy getting my hair cut and buying new glasses, I have been super busy everywhere else in my life. On top of that I have been sick this week and super lame. Sorry I have been half assing my posts.

Here are a few things I would like to highlight from the last few weeks:

1. Yes, I did finish the Hunger Games trilogy.

2. Yes, It was amazing, and I did stay up very late at night reading the books.

3. No, Mr. A will not read them, even though I have told him how awesome they are. I also found out that Kelly's husband read the books, and liked them! Point me.

4. Yes, I do love it when Mr. A gets super wasted at our friend's 30th birthday. It made me feel all high and mighty. It was one of the few times in our entire relationship that he has been the drunk one. It was awesome. I will strive to make this happen more often.

5. Yes, I still want to buy a house.

6. No I have not yet bought a house and we will yet again be pushing that off. The good news is I kind of love our apartment and it is just fine for now. Point for not having to be responsible!

7. Yes, I will be giving you all lots of details on the mass amounts of shopping I have been doing in preparation for our Italy trip in September. I have already planned a Nordies trip this weekend for some shoe shopping.

8. No I have not stopped stalking Kate Middleton. In fact I found a whole blog dedicated to finding all the clothes she wears and telling me where to buy them.

9. No I will not tell you the name of said blog, because then you too could be like my best friend Kate Middleton.

10. No, I am not pregnant. Whenever I get sick these days everyone always thinks I am pregnant. Not happening people.

So that catches you up on the last few weeks. I went on a lovely date with Mr. A on my birthday. We had a great time and I was in bed by 9:15. It was the perfect way to ring in 28. This weekend I am planning a pub crawl with a bunch of my friends to celebrate me NOT being 30. WHAT WHAT!

Hope you all are doing well. I will be in touch soon!

Annoyed... But better now

UPDATE, I got it back up!

I am sorry to all of you that are dying to hear all about my weekend. Kate I swear it was not on purpose love!

The weekend that never was...

This weekend recap is going to a huge rant about why it sucked, sorry. Reviewing all the BS that happened will make you want to slit your wrists, sorry again. It is now Wednesday, deal with it. So here goes.

Friday we had our normal movie night, except when giving my dog belly scratches I realized that he had two ticks. Fast forward to us calling the doggy hospital and running to Pets mart  to buy flea wash and meds. (I was already taking him to vet the next morning but we felt we should not wait) Then Mr. A washing the dog in flea and tick bath as I try to make french macaroons for brunch the next morning. Over beating the macaroons while helping the hubs get the meds on the dog and then realizing the tea sandwiches are not quick to make. Annoyed, I then am up till about 1130 making sandwiches. Go to bed, then hear a helicopter floying around my house, I look outside there are about 10 cop cars parked across the street and three helicopters circling. I try to wake Mr.A, he tells me to hush and snuggle, says its nothing. I am scared to death that some man hunt is going on outside. So I read my book, "Huger Games" (awesome book by the way), and try to fall asleep. As soon as I dose off, Mr. A wakes up and announces he cant sleep and that I woke him up. He goes to living room, I dose some more. I am woken up by him whipping open the door and telling me to lock the bedroom door an stay in the room with our dog. I panic and do the only rational thing you can do, open the door and go find him.

I find him in the man cave putting together our gun, (why we have a gun is a whole other story) that I make him have in 6 pieces. He then says someone is trying to break in to the apartment downstairs, I freak out. We sit in silence in our living room, waiting. Now both of us are terrified thinking that the man hunt going on across the street that just ended has begun again at our front door. Well about 30 mins go by and nothing. We calm down but not enough to go to bed so now we decide to watch the classic movie, Fast and Furious because you know, that is what you do at 230 am when terrified. So we do and then we fall asleep around 330am.

Saturday morning at 7, we take the dog to the vet for them to get the ticks off of him, turns out my dog just need to exfoliate more. He has a freaking BLACKHEAD on his pee pee and that is what we were worried about. UGH. So after $150 bucks at the vet and $80 on his tick meds and wash we are not happy. We head home, I start hosting my friends at the house to watch the Royal Wedding.

I totally want to write whole other post about the wedding because it was AMAZE-BALLS. I will do that tomorrow. The girls were great, everything looked perfect. We start having fun. That's when it hits me, I am going to throw up! I sit down before I pass out and my friend Whitney helps me by making me a mimosa, because that cures everything. I feel better and I ignore the dizziness. Nothing can stop me from day drinking and wedding history!

Meanwhile my dog starts to poop everywhere in the living room. Runny gross stuff. It was not adding to my ladies brunch I was hosting. SOOO I get that cleaned up while wanting to toss my tea sandwich all over the place. Whitney, again helps me by making my dog some rice to help with the runny poo. Dog poops 4 more times in the house throughout the day, leaving them spread out all over the house like special gifts for me to find. I am not happy.

Hubs gets home, I am still sick, he eats leftovers and we pass out.

Next AM, our dog shits again everywhere we take him to the animal hospital. THREE HOURS later we get out of there, $100 bucks lighter. He needs YOGURT!!!! The dog prescribed yogurt and relaxation apparently he was stressed. REALLY!?!

SO now that my dog is ZEN I worry I am totally prggers, I have convinced myself of this while waiting at the pet hospital. I then rush to Walgreen's and buy 4 tests. I pass all of them!!! WHOOO WHOOO no ginger baby around these parts yet! So the hubs and I celebrate with mangia pizza and too much wine. All the while not figuring out why I am dizzy and sick. Ehh we will worry about that later.

SOO how was your weekend? Better than mine?

I am totally obsessed

Source
With the Royal wedding just a few hours away I am finally going to come out and say it. I am totally obsessed! My job is mainly about serious stuff and I just never get to have "fun". Its the path I have chosen and for the most part I really love what I do. BUT that being said I am totally in need of some girly fun stuff, and I am obsessing over the royal wedding. I find myself trying to read every article I can about Kate and dreaming of what she must be feeling like. SO much fun!!! As a recent bride I want to know if even on the scale of her wedding if she is just super excited to see William on the big day. I wonder if he knows what her dress is going to look like. I wonder if she has had that last single girl kiss. Ahhh I just love it all!

Also, I am kind of tired of people judging her for being too skinny and saying she is not a good roll model. First of all if I were getting married in front of a billion people I would be a freaking skeleton. I would be so effing skinny for fear that some photographer would somehow get a picture of cellulite (not that she has much to begin with). But gosh damn give the girl a break! Every bride is too skinny. She is just under about a billion times more pressure!

Last ranting point, I am SOOOOO over people being too cool for the wedding and being all, "I don't care", whatever you people. Lighten up. It is all in good fun and what little girl my age has not dreamed of marring Prince William? I remember thinking because I was half English I had a better shot. I even remember looking into what college he was going to go to so I too could go there and meet him. Guess Kate had the same plan! But whatever, lighten up people. I love love!

Plus I just DYING to see her dress!!!! Congrats to the happy couple!

It's Getting Hot In Herrr/ Is the end of the world near?

OK not to be a pessimist or anything but I am starting to get a bit concerned that the Myans may have had it right. Things have been going on in the world that just don't seem to be good.

First off, Egypt and the rest of the middle east has gone nuts! I think it is great to show the power of peacefull protests and I think it is great if everyone in the mid-east wants to get on thier twitter account and overthrow thier government. BUT I am a bit concerned as to where that leaves these countries after everything goes down. Like who will be running the region, if not for more dictators? Maybe George Clooney? Now that would be awesome.

Secondly, did you know we are in the midst of a solar flare???? It's like we are living in a "end of the world" movie. The news outlets all keep saying ehhh don't worry about NOAA has this covered, but I mean how exactly do they have this covered? Do they have a big bottle of sunscreen they will put over the planet? Will Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis get on a spaceship and shoot ice at the sun to cool that bitch down? I mean really how exactly am I supposed to think it is reassuring that only some GPS systems and only some planes will have to be rerouted and only some radio contact could go down?

Third, did you know earth might have two suns in 2012??? A star, supposidly really far away from here is going to explode/implode! It is losing mass and will eventually implode on itself and Earth should be able to see this bright light for a few weeks. Does anyone else feel a litte bit concerned about this whole idea of a freaking star IMPLODING!!!!??? This can't be good.

Fourth, this is supposed to be the last pope before the end of the world. For those of you that don't know I am Catholic. I get to hear all the cool and crazy Cathloic stories from family and it always weirds me out. But that is neither here nor there. Apparently a saint back in the day has predicted that this pope will be the last pope before the anti-Christ will trick us into taking over the church and then the WORLD. Seriously people I don't joke about the anti-Christ.

So with these stories and the news that Sarah Palin might run for president in 2010 plus the fact that for the first time since I have graduated college and am in the workforce I have money in my bank account, I am thinking this is The End.

Enjoy 2011 and 2012 people.

BTW - I totally hope you know this was all in good humor and not meant to freak anyone out and I don't actually think the world is coming to and end. Just think there is a lot of weird stuff going on in this crazy world.

What the hell is going on with me?

This weekend my sister threw one heck of a bachelorette party for me. We had so much fun chatting, relaxing, catching up, and eating! She even had a little surprise lingerie shower for me and lots of other cute games planned. I really had so much fun with all the girls. I really needed the break from reality. I feel even more like this is all getting real.

Well the reason I am writing this post is not to give you all a full recap because as we all know some of that stuff need to stay a bit private! But I do have to mention that I got really sick on Saturday night. I did not think anything of it other than I must have over ate my sister's wonderful cheese ball and nothing else. Sunday I drove home sick and since then have not felt 100%.

Well the pain never really went away and this morning I apparently had a full fledged panic attack. Like, chest pains, shortness of breath, panicking, impending doom, passed out, dizzy kinda stuff. I hid in an office at work and called WF to come get me. Turns out I am a bit more stressed about things going on in my life then I even let myself in on. I was so embarrassed because honestly the wedding is not that big of a deal. I am super excited about getting married and I know I have some amazing friends who will be there will me every step of the way. I can't believe how worried I have gotten in just the last week or so.

Anyway panic attacks are no fun. I don't suggest any of you get this way. I am making a personal apology to my friends who might be dealing with a bit of my crazy right now. I know I am crazy, admitting I have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery right?

"Girls, this is not a DEMocracy, this is a CHEERocracy and I'm the cheertator!!"

We are about 6 full weeks out from the wedding an I am up to my eye balls in bullshit and drama. I am currently going through a lot professionally, while wearing a boot that prohibits me from meeting any of my fitness goals, making feel crappy about the way I look, having to save every single penny, while planning a wedding. All just so much fun. I am ready to pull my hair out and I can't take being worried about peoples feelings anymore.

FMIL is driving me slowly insane with her ideas and thoughts on my wedding. Example: It was suggested that WF's and my stuffed animals be put out during the wedding ceremony and put together after we say our wedding vows like they were getting married to. REALLY. REALLY? REALLY!!!! Now her feelings are hurt, and honestly I can't deal. I have made WF call her because I might say something I will regret.

WF after months of pushing to have a frigging champagne toast at the wedding JUST realized that we already have freaking champagne at our open bar (even though I have told him this a MILLION times) and now he is finally getting why I have been begging not to spend $400 on bottled of champagne we are already paying for so waiters can poor that crap. Give me a break.

Ok so there is lots else going on in my life but these are just some of the highlights. I am officially making this shit a dictatorship. Something that my sister and Kelly told me to do months ago. I am over it.

To my bridesmaids who are reading this, this is rant of my crazy is not directed at you in anyway. You ladies are the reason WF still has balls. Feel good about that...

I don't want to look like a science experiment gone wrong

I am considering trying out airbrush tanning for my wedding. I have been working out really hard and have noticed that my arms have begun to tone up a bit. BUT in pictures and such I never see any difference. It is like my arms look like twins of the marshmallow man from Ghostbusters (an American classic BTW).

Months ago I was told I should try airbrush tanning because it will help make me look better (skinner, cus I am vain) on the day of the wedding. I am nervous about this because I don't want to turn out blending in while standing next to WF when he wears hit favorite UT burnt orange t-shirt! All these places assure me that this is perfectly safe for fair skinned people and that they will customize a color that works best for me. I am very skeptical of this. Who is "they" really? Some chick who did not graduate from college is going to customize the perfect tan for me while carving out abs on my stomach with a paint brush? REALLY?

I don't know. I want to try it because I am super desperate to look hot on the wedding day, and for the honeymoon but I just don't know if I can trust it. I am willing to try it out in the next few weeks when no one will be seeing me. Any recommendations? Janet, Amelia and Kelly I am looking at you!

Oh god please no... must fight it

I am sick. It is official. I am super gross sick. I don't sound that bad just yet but it is coming. My throat is on FIRE and my glands are swollen. I am achy and tired and I can barley open my eyes enough to type this.

There are several large problems with being sick at this time. Let me fill you in. First this Thursday I have a big surprise planned for WF and I. I will not tell you what it is just in case he does read this. But let me tell you being sick will really imped the experience. Plus the added not feeling hot and sexy at all when you are trying to celebrate Valentines day with your finance really kinda blows. Then we have a wedding this weekend in Houston. We have to travel to Houston and go to this wedding. Again not fun when you are sick. On top of that we are going to visit my niece and nephew, fun but not when you are hacking all over them. (Although I am pretty sure they are the ones that got me sick in the first place, ass holes) Then next week is going to be super busy for me. I have a HUGE week long conference that I work like 20 hour days at. Being sick BLOWS during said events.

The WORST part of all of this? Is WF is sick too. You ladies must know that grown men are the biggest babies when it comes to having any sort of cold symptom. They wine and bitch about how sick they are. WF is great most of the time but when he has a cold, OMG I could hit him. Last night he kept joking that he thought he was dying. REALLY? Scratchy throat and you think you are dying?

My rant is over now.
