Fall fashion and vacation wear preview

As I prepare for our vacation to the Rome, Sorrento and the Amalifi Coast I have had the perfect excuse to buy lots and lots of stuff! Woot Woot! I daydream of many of these things and some I have actually purchased. I usually try to replace staple items and then find a few trendy things to throw in there. I don't typically live on the edge though, so sorry if this is not all that exciting to many of you. I am trying to think more out of the box of my usual jeans and t-shirt with sneakers weekend outfit. Here is what I have come up with so far:

First I needed some fun dressed that I could add leggings to and boots and wear them at night or during the day. I bought these at old navy with 30% off!

I think the last skirt will be prefect with a white tank sandals and a wrap for a nice dinner. I have never bought anything like this before, but Kelly and Janet said it was a go so I went with it. I blame them if I look like a sofa.

I am imagining me wearing a lot of this look this fall, all of from Loft of course. Kate Middleton rocks this all the time:

For shoes I am bringing several newbies and several oldies. I know it seems like a lot but I remind you I had foot surgery and I don't mess around with my feet! I am bringing a pair of cold sandals in addition to these:

Here is the one thing that I could never travel without. My scarves. Ladies, and gents I am ONLY bringing 4. This is a very low count for me considering I counted over 30 in my closet. I freaking love scarves. I am going to buy more over there, I know it. Don't judge. BUT you have to admit it is the perfect functional accessory to every travel outfit.

I am packing leggings to make each outfit a bit warmer if i choose to wear it at night. I am also packing on pair of skinny jeans as I have been told that is what Italians wear. And I am bringing a few basic tank tops  to throw on with capri's  and my scarf, of course.

So how have I done?

Last Friday Night...

Well actually last Saturday night I went to Katy Perry with Janet and Kelly. We had a great time! Katy Perry rocked my face off and sang her sexy little heart out! It was a great night out for us girls sans the boys.

I had a theme for the night, glitter. So here is my outfit for the event. Silver glitter shorts, glitter shirt, pick nails, glitter purple eyes and hot pink nails. Hope you like.

Top and shorts from Loft. Shoes from Marshalls.

Yeah, I belted it.

I got a belt this weekend on clearence from Target this weekend and finally am able to belt that shit and my dear friends call it. Here is my outfit this morning.

Dress from Banana, sweater from Loft, belt from Target, shoes from Dillards (on sale this weekend for $30 bucks!)

Did I pull it off?

A 4th of July Weekend Full of Fun!

This past weekend as so much fun. As my good friend Kelly told me, I kind of had a little staycation in Austin. Mr. A had to work all weekend so I was for the most part on my own. We started the weekend off with gin martinis at Kelly's house with some friends. I love me a stiff gin martini, they are amazing!

Saturday I did Fit Dog Austin at Zilker Parker. Oh my goodness I loved it! Such a fun workout with my dog. Any dog owners out there should totally go! We then had breakfast at taco deli, my favorite. I the took a very cold shower and passed out with the pup for a few hours. That night I headed to Hula Hut and judged all the amazing meat heads as they got off their sausage filled boats. It was pretty fun. Plus the Austin Ritas on the lake were a perfect end to a nice day.

Sunday I headed to Nordies to return some shoes I had bought and no longer could justify. I proceeded to shop with Kelly for more shoes and had a lovely little mimosa at the bistro in Nordies. Not going to lie, I only go to Barton Creek mall because of Nordstrom at this point, I am a total shopping snob.

I totally saved a baby with these shoes too.

After doing some damage and buying these red TOMS (I know I am so hipster) we headed home to have pool time at my apartment. 8 of our friends came over and we had 5 hours of laughs in the pool. It was a perfect night really.

On the 4th, I got caught up in the John Adams marathon on HBO (we totally own it and I have seen it like 3 times) I thought it was a perfect way to remember the start of our country on a very partiotic day! Then I planted some new succulents on my portch and did some other things around the home.

I ended the night by making a very patriotic dessert for Mr. A and I. I hope you all had a great weekend!

Strawberries, Blueberries, Angelfood Cake, and home made Whipped Cream. Awesome.

What Kate Wore - Canada Day Edition

As we all know it's Canada Day, MUCH more important then our little holiday we have coming up this weekend. Why is it more important you ask? Because Kate's outfit for Canada Day was effing amazing! If Kate thinks it is important then it is dammit. (What is Canada Day again?)

 Can you stand it?

I can't even deal with how much I love this hat! He whole outfit is an ode to the Canadian flag, and if you did not already love Kate now you will for sure. She wore this same dress already in her engagement pictures! How cool is that? She could have any outfit or dress in the world and she chose to just re-wear a totally cute dress she had already!

I love you Kate...

Happy Canada Day everyone!

Summer movie uniform

I went to go see Bad Teacher last night with friends. Tonight I am going to Transformers. I know we see a lot of freaking movies. I wanted to share what usually wear to every single movie I go see.

I wear something like this virtually every time I go see a movie wth the hubs and friends because it is totally functional. Layers, but still cute and comphy. Here's to me wishing all of you find it fashionable!

I saved a baby, and look I like Kate Middleton

Check out my new shoes! I bought them at Nordies this weekend and I love them. Best part is they are TOMS so a new pair of shoes was donated to a child in need in Africa.

Well, really the best part is Kate Middleton has shoes just like these that she wears all the time and now I look even more like her... soon we wil be freinds I tell you!

Once again, no, I am not a stalker...

I just really really want to be like Kate Middleton.

I bought these shoes yesterday. Do you think Kate and Wills would want to go sailing with me!?!

I know I am late to the "Party", get off my back.

In my last post I said I was going to post about the royal wedding. I really had planned a huge post about the food I cooked and the drinks we drank and my friend's colorful opinions of all of the hats. But I just never got there. Last week seemed to fly by and then this weekend was like, POOF! So I will give the abbreviated version for you all.

Let me start by saying as a little girl I honestly dreamt of marrying William. I really had this whole idea that because I was part English I could totally marry him. His birthday is the day after mine, but he is just a year older than me. I would look to see what schools he was going to so I could apply to them. I totally looked into St. Andrews and totally would have gone if I could have. Then history would have been different. Kate for sure stole my idea. That B. But now I am in love with Kate too. So I have gotten over my rage of not landing the prince and decided to celebrate their marriage.

By now you have seen THE DRESS. All I can say is WOW. She looked amazing. Every part of the look was spot on. I am so glad I did not get married after her because I would have totally tried to copy her veil, dress and whole lookand it would have totally cost me a lot of money.

Source

Then there were all the cute moments, that really brought the wedding down to a level that we could all relate too. I loved that they were not robots, that you could tell how much they were in love. I loved that Harry took a peak at her before his brother. How cute was it that William joked with her dad at the alter? All of it made you realize this was not just a royal wedding, but a wedding of two people really in love.

Source
I loved the kiss, and I totally love again how real the moment was. Kate even said "Oh WOW!" as she walked out on the balcony. I thought it was so sweet to see both sets of parents taking in the moment off to the side. Charles even seems like a warm person, holding up Camilla's grandchild so he could see. Just so sweet.

Source

Most of all I thought it was so cool of them that they drove off in a car together, just like normal newlyweds! Never mind that it was a rare Ashton Martin that is worth more than most houses, and they were driving from one palace to another palace... it was still so cute!

Source
I will finish with my normal craziness. I am totally convinced that if Mr.A and I moved to Anglesey and we ran into Wills and Kate at the market we could totally be friends. I imagine Kate inviting me over for a glass of wine and a chat. We would totally hang out. I know it. In the mean time I will continue to obsess about everything that Kate wears and grow my hair out just like her. She would not find that weird at all when she met me at the market, would she?

I am totally obsessed

Source
With the Royal wedding just a few hours away I am finally going to come out and say it. I am totally obsessed! My job is mainly about serious stuff and I just never get to have "fun". Its the path I have chosen and for the most part I really love what I do. BUT that being said I am totally in need of some girly fun stuff, and I am obsessing over the royal wedding. I find myself trying to read every article I can about Kate and dreaming of what she must be feeling like. SO much fun!!! As a recent bride I want to know if even on the scale of her wedding if she is just super excited to see William on the big day. I wonder if he knows what her dress is going to look like. I wonder if she has had that last single girl kiss. Ahhh I just love it all!

Also, I am kind of tired of people judging her for being too skinny and saying she is not a good roll model. First of all if I were getting married in front of a billion people I would be a freaking skeleton. I would be so effing skinny for fear that some photographer would somehow get a picture of cellulite (not that she has much to begin with). But gosh damn give the girl a break! Every bride is too skinny. She is just under about a billion times more pressure!

Last ranting point, I am SOOOOO over people being too cool for the wedding and being all, "I don't care", whatever you people. Lighten up. It is all in good fun and what little girl my age has not dreamed of marring Prince William? I remember thinking because I was half English I had a better shot. I even remember looking into what college he was going to go to so I too could go there and meet him. Guess Kate had the same plan! But whatever, lighten up people. I love love!

Plus I just DYING to see her dress!!!! Congrats to the happy couple!

One perfect day... and the winner!

I had the pleasure of being a member of Janet's wedding party this weekend and I had a blast!!! It was the first time I was in a wedding since ours and it just gave me a whole new perspective on the event! I relived so many emotions. It was so special to walk down the isle and see my husband standing there smiling back. Janet has impeccable taste and everything about the whole day just said casual and sophisticated elegance.

I was super emotional about their wedding. I think even more so than I was about ours. Not because hers was more emotional to me than my own wedding but because I actually had time to let all those feelings rush in. I remembered what it was like to slip on that dress (and stuff my bra with chicken cutlets). I knew what those vows meant to Mr. A and I. It was such a special experience to be a part of Janet's day and see her run though it all.

I am sure others with post more pictures from the wedding. Since both the hubs and I were in it we could not take any pictures of the ceremony. Since I began to dance and eat and drink at the reception my camera did not come out much then either. So sorry for that.

Let me just tell you my favorite part of the whole day was the groom, Ben, filling up as he saw Janet turn the corner and head towards him! It was one of those moments that reminds you of all of the emotion behind that day. It was amazing to see between them.

I will do my best to link to other posts with pictures and details from the day because words can't begin to describe how beautiful the wedding was!

Now, getting away from the mushy stuff and on to the fashion. I know that is what you all care about anyway! I chose the retro dress with the strait neck. Its the one Mr. A liked me in and let's face it that is the guy I care most about liking what I wear! Janet gave us all matching pearl necklaces (so freaking cute btw) and I wore some black low heals. Hair up in a low messy bun. Smokey eyes. I worked it. :-) Here is the dress as a reminder, better pictures will come soon.

The Bridesmaid Dress Game!

Alright y'all, here is the deal. I am in one of my best friends weddings this weekend. Janet has asked us all to wear whatever black dress we wanted to wear. So me being thrifty and such decided to barrow a dress. My good friend Amelia had wore a totally fab dress our wedding so I of course stole that dress asap for this wedding.
Last night by chance I tried the dress on again for the first time in a month. Well it just did not look right. Turns our it is just too big. Well in a panic I ran to White House Black Market and found two totally perfect options as well.
So what's the game you ask? Well I want to know if you think it is worth it for me to buy the correct size dress or just stuff my bra a lot and wear the borrowed one. Here are the dresses, you decide! Dress one will be the sweetheart neck, dress two the stripes and dress three strait across neck a-line. Go!

It's been a while, I know I know!

Ok guys! I know its been a while. I am sorry. I am typing up a few posts today so you guys who are all obviously dying to know what's been going on with me can be satiated!

First things first, my new job is going well. Here I am in my new office. Please take notice I am dressed in clothing that coordinates! I know! You are like WHAT!?! Well my co-worker Devon, who also has a fabulous blog and I will tell you all about that later, said this outfit was picture worthy. I am wearing a scarf my MIL gave me for Christmas and a really old top from target, that is huge on me but it actually still looks fine like that. I am also wearing old brown Ann Taylor pants that I recently had hemmed and taken in. If you need a good taylor let me know I can give you a recommendation. I think they came out really well.

So in addition in this picture you can see I have an office with a real desk, chair, phone and my very own WINDOW!!! I know you are jealous! Anyway, I am really doing well at my job and I hope that it is a great change for me! Its been a lot of hard work and a huge change for me, but so far so good!

More posts to come!

New Job = Blogger FAIL

So my new job is awesome. I think I am going to like it a lot. It is going to be a lot of hard "adult" work. I have to do real stuff now, which kind of puts a cramp in my blogging style. DAMMIT I know! I can't even check the blogger websites and have in turn already missed out on a HH this year with all the other bloggers in town BOOO for me!

So I am trying to limp along this year and see if I can keep up blogging. I am not sure if can do it but I am going to try. This whole thing has been really therapeutic for me and I love to read about everyone else.

So for my first post of 2011 I will give you and update on my plan for 2011. One of my New Year's resolutions is going to be taking care of myself. Being healthy, not getting totally wasted anymore, working out (once I can feel my foot again) and keeping my weight under control. These are all things that I kind of do already, so it should not be a big deal. So my big challenge will be FASHION!!!

I am determined to be fashionable at my new job. Not that I was horrible at my last job, but come on, throwing on a pair of size 10 pants when I am now a 4 and a shirt from Target circa 2002 is not really a "look" now is it? SO I got some money for Christmas to buy new clothes from my family and my "poppy" got me a new suit from Dillard's that I totally love. It is like a real one not one from Target that I have had for 4 years that does not fit. I am pumped.

I am going shopping today and I am hoping to find some good stuff. I will let you know what I find and I am also going to try and start taking pictures of cute ensembles I put together at least two times a week. This is my goal. We will see if it happens. This is a goal that should not only help me out but I am hoping will make me take myself more seriously at my new "big kid"job. Here is to a new year!

My Christmas Wishlist - Just shoes for me please!

I was very lucky to get almost everything a girl could which for for her home for our wedding this year. This is a great thing but it also makes it very hard to come up with a non-ridiculous wish list for my family this year. (God I sound like bitch. Oh poor girl who has everything, boo freaking who.)

Well turns out what I do need is lots of shoes. I have have been battling this annoying nerve in my foot for over a year now and I am going to finally have it taken out. YEA!!! But that means that I now can't wear almost 3/4 of my shoes. So I have asked for shoes and clothing for Christmas this year.

Behold my dream shoes:

Steve Madden Intyce

They are simple and stylish without being too trendy. I am hoping to get these bad boys or some sort of equestrian boot to jazz up my "flats only" shoe needs.

From Zappos - Clarks Pump in Pewter

I feel these bad boys as much as they are plain in style will be a comfortable but cute option for work. I now have to have rummer soles on all my shoes so I am very limited on what I can wear. Annoying!

From Zappos - Ugg Classic Cardy Boot

A few years back my friend Janet got these. I have been envious of them since. I need a pair of throw on shoes other than freaking sneakers for the weekends. I am hoping these will be just the shoe for that!

From Anthropologie - Crinkled Corona Mary-Jane's

Let's face it I am never going to get these shoes. But I love them. I want them and I think my feet would look fabulous in them.

I have also wished for some new slippers with my new initial on them. I need rubber sole house shoes, because walking on carpet even irritates my foot. Awesome times.

I hope you guys get lots of great and fun gifts for this holiday!

A classy drunk...?

This weekend is my bachelorette party here in Austin. Two of my bridesmaids, Kelly and Janet are hosting the lovely event and I can not begin to explain how freaking excited I am. I wanted to have a bachelorette party but I did not in ANY way want to go downtown and do that whole thing. I hate lots of attention and I defiantly did not want to carry around a huge penis on 6th street while kissing men other than my WF. I wanted a, how should I say... classy drunk. Let's not panic people I still am planning on drinking my fair share and making an ass our of myself but I am a snob and wanted to add a little class to my drunk!

So this weekend the girls are taking me out for several wine tastings, tours of hill country and a lunch at one of the wineries! Jealous? I know you are! :) We are ending the night at my house for a slumber party, with movie watching and pizza to boot!

So now to the all important outfit choosing. What to wear what to wear!? I have picked out several dresses from Ann Taylor Loft, god I love that store. Here are my choices:
Or This Dress in hot pink. What do you guys think?

Meetings Shmeetings

This week I have working meetings. They are all day and they are boring. So I am going to be a bit MIA this week. In the mean time I am going to ask you all what your thoughts are about changing outfits when you leave your wedding.

I am considering a change of clothes for when we leave the wedding. I was thinking about wearing my mom's wedding dress when I leave the wedding. I can shorten it and make it a really cute cocktail dress. I thought it would be a fun way to make a nod to my mom and our family while being fashionable and fun.

Thoughts on this? Do you guys think this is odd? Do you think it is excessive?
